Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for delivering engineering projects that align with business requirements. This role involves detailed coordination with internal engineers and external consultants, vendors, and contractors to manage project lifecycle transitions effectively, ensuring all designs meet stakeholder requirements and adhere to safety standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver electrical and instrumentation engineering works for major projects as directed.
  • Coordinate with a broad range of project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review and approve engineering service provider (ESP) design deliverables.
  • Monitor and support ESPs in delivering assigned work packages.
  • Mentor junior Electrical & Instrumentation engineers and support their professional development.
  • Participate in risk management activities and support safety in design processes.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, preferably in a brownfield environment within heavy industries.
  • Proficiency in safety, project management, and engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks).
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing external consultants and engineering service providers.

 

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of industrial processes, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships across diverse groups.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience in high-voltage systems, SCADA, PLCs, and other control technologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (AS/NZS and international standards).

 

Additional Requirements

  • Travel to various company assets or vendor premises may be required.
  • A valid Class C Driver’s License is preferred.

 

This position is crucial for ensuring that all aspects of electrical and instrumentation engineering are effectively managed to support the company’s operational and strategic goals. The Senior E&I Engineer will play a pivotal role in sustaining and enhancing the operational efficacy and safety of major projects.
