Job Description
Education and Experience:
Qualifications in Civil, mechanical or electrical Engineering
3 - 5 years’ experience working in project engineering roles within the mining, construction or infrastructure
Proven capability in successfully delivering discrete packages of work including design and sub-contractor management
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, document and report, physical progress against schedule and any delays/interference which may have affected progress.
- Ensure all day works, variations and other claims are accurately recorded and reported.
- Liaise with contract administration to ensure all financial entitlements of the company are protected.
- Liaise with client representatives and onsite supervision in relation to permits to work, JHA’s ITP, and any other requirements to enable the timely completion of the work.
- Undertake the preparation of variations including taking off quantities and pricing.
- Assist the estimating department with take offs, sourcing quotations and compliance documentation.
- Co-ordination of the project in accordance with the directions in the project execution plan.
- Coordinate subcontractors engaged on each project and ensure they are delivering their work in accordance with their safe work procedures and in line with their quality plans.
- To coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment and subcontracting services required on the project.
- Liaise with drawing & engineering office to resolve technical issues
- Work with the Construction Supervisors to resolve site technical, scheduling and safety problems.
- Complete ITPs, weld maps and any other quality records with assistance from the construction supervisor.
