Job Purpose
The Communications Officer at Ergon is responsible for enhancing engagement with external stakeholders through strategic and effective communication practices. This role involves developing and executing communication strategies, supporting external event deliveries, and managing various communication platforms to align with organizational goals and standards.
Key Responsibilities• Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy, including social media, newsletters, media campaigns, and annual reports.
• Execute the communication plan, ensuring all materials are professional and align with the strategic objectives of the organization.
• Manage and update content across communication platforms such as websites and social media.
• Support the organization of external events and manage media coverage for these events.
• Maintain and utilize a stakeholder database to enhance engagement and communications.
Qualifications and Experience
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related fields.
• Proven experience in managing media and external communications across multiple platforms, ideally within the not-for-profit or charity sector.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including in Aboriginal or multicultural settings.
Skills
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
• Proficiency in desktop publishing and graphic design software, social media management, and website management.
